The vision from Day 1 has been to provide South Dakota businesses a proactive strategy to engage individuals in their communities, improve their skills set, and fill workforce needs. Registered Apprenticeship Programs (RAPs) provide employers a proven business model to develop fully trained employees.
Work-Based Learning (WBL) connects students with industry to engage in real-world experiences. WBL experiences bridge academic, technical and employability skill development to help students become college, career and life ready. Whether in the earlier grades with career awareness, middle grades with career exploration, or high school with career preparation, WBL helps students explore careers and develop personal and professional goals for life after high school.
Bring Your ‘A’ Game is an engaging curriculum for building the seven foundational workplace skills of Work Ethic. Unlike boring online training programs, this curriculum is instructor-led, interactive, and consistently delivers lasting impact. Developed with the needs of educators and workforce development professionals in mind, it is fully customizable to meet the changing demands of serving unique populations.
SkillsCommons’ mission is to accelerate the democratization of education for all through open educational services and resources enabling individuals, communities, educational institutions, organizations, and businesses to prepare people for successful employment in the 21st Century.

CybHER®’s mission is to empower, motivate, educate, and change the perception of girls and women in cybersecurity. By providing resources for girls from middle school through collegiate programs and into professional careers, CybHER will allow women to foster positive and encouraging relationships within this industry through original and curated content that educates and motivates women. Ultimately, our goal is to increase diversity by introducing more girls to cybersecurity, who will then transition to women in collegiate programs, and finally highly trained professionals. While CybHER’s mission is to promote STEM and technology for females, CybHER is open to everyone.

According to the Department of Labor, stackable credentials are “part of a sequence of credentials accumulated over time to build up an individual’s qualification to help them move along a career pathway or up a career ladder to potentially different and higher paying jobs.”
To help individual career planners and job seekers identify occupations with the most favorable job outlook from a labor market perspective, the Labor Market Information Center (LMIC) identifies high demand-high wage occupations, or “Hot Careers.” There are currently 69 South Dakota occupations making the cut as “Hot Careers.” Of those 69, the 30 occupations projected to have the greatest demand for workers are identified as the “Top 30.”
