mom-baby-toddler

This report provides valuable information regarding the status and knowledge of early learning in South Dakota. The South Dakota Department of Education surveyed elementary school administrators from 138 public school districts. The report also provides information on how schools assess kindergarten readiness, ways schools prepare children for the kindergarten transition, and some ideas to enhance collaboration between school and preschool programs. The “Birth to 5” pillar of the South Dakota Statewide Family Engagement Center will use this information when developing programs to help preschool-aged children be ready for reading instruction in kindergarten.
