This three-part training is for South Dakota in-home childcare providers interested in preparing children for reading success in school.

About this event

The Strategies to Support Early Literacy Learning is for South Dakota in-home childcare providers and will be held online Tuesdays, August 18, August 25, and September 1 from 6:00-8:00pm Mountain Time. Please plan to attend all three sessions.

Participants will be able to:

- Understand the learning domains of early literacy.

- Develop a literacy rich environment to help children be prepared for literacy instruction.

-Increase children’s language and communication skills to support their social and emotional development.

-Help families understand early literacy and how to support their children.

There will be a $100 stipend for South Dakota in-home childcare providers who participate in all three sessions (other qualifications may be considered). South Dakota attendees will be provided resources to assist with implementation of the strategies.
